Overview
The Toi Summer Festival is the biggest fireworks event in West Izu and the main summer draw of Toi Onsen, the hot-spring town on the Izu Peninsula’s west coast. Shells are launched from barges just offshore, so the display sits directly over the water in front of the town.
Unusually, it runs three nights in a row rather than one, with the programme varied each evening. The finale is the same every night: an aerial “Niagara” curtain roughly 200 m high and 500 m wide.
When and Where
18–20 August 2026, with the venue programme running 19:00–21:00 each evening and fireworks from about 20:30 to 21:00.
The special venue is set up on the lawn at Matsubara Park, on the seafront at Toi.

Admission and Practicalities
Watching from the beach and park is free. Walker Plus has listed paid seating at ¥5,000 per seat, but this does not appear on the Izu City tourism association page — confirm with the Toi branch of the Izu City Tourism Association on 0558-98-1212 before relying on it.
Parking is limited and the organisers ask visitors to share cars.
Tips for Visitors
Arrive by Suruga Bay Ferry from Shimizu if you can. Toi Port is a short walk from the venue and the 90-minute crossing gives Mount Fuji views on a clear day — a far better approach than the mountain road.
If coming by land, the bus from Shuzenji Station takes about 50 minutes, and the last services back are early. Plan to stay overnight at Toi Onsen.
The Niagara finale is best seen with some distance from the water’s edge — the far end of the park works well.
