Japan Events Guide is a curated calendar of Japanese festivals and seasonal events, written for international visitors. Every entry is researched from official and tourism-board sources, then rewritten in plain English.
We cover everything from ancient matsuri traditions to contemporary cultural happenings — giving visitors the practical information they need to experience Japan at its most authentic.

Our Mission
Japan’s festival calendar is rich and complex — events vary by year, region and tradition, and reliable English information is scattered at best. Our goal is to make that calendar accessible to every international visitor, with accurate dates, honest descriptions and real travel advice.
How We Research
Dates and details come from official event pages, shrine and temple announcements, and prefectural tourism boards. Where an event follows a recurring pattern rather than a fixed date, we say so in the article. If we cannot confirm something, we leave it out rather than guess.
Event details can still change at short notice, so please confirm with the organiser before you travel.
